Event Calendar Configuration

In 2.2.5.0, it seems that the the configuration link for the event calendar leads to the Google Maps configuration.

Re: Event Calendar Configuration

Hi,

You don't mention why you think that so I can't accept your conclusion without further info. The Event Calendar does in fact now have google map settings so maybe this makes you draw a false conclusion. Its now possible to specifiy a location for an event in which case a google map with driving directions will appear in the event detail view, so the Events feature has some settings related to google maps.

However as noted in another post, the google map service seems to be malfunctioning at the moment.

Best,

Joe

Re: Event Calendar Configuration

Hi Joe,

I realized some further info was left out a while after posting the message.  After uploading the 2.2.5.0 files and updating the schema (automatically, just via the /setup page), I actually was able to configure the calendar appropriately.  However, after saving the configuration, re-visits to the calendar configuration took me to the Google map settings and no calendar options were offered.

By the way, this is using the MSSQL release files.

Re: Event Calendar Configuration

I still think you are mis-percieving it. If you look at the page with your event calendar and you click the gear icon next to the title of your event calendar it goes to module settings for the event calendar where you will see mostly settings for google maps. The only event calendar specific setting you will see there is a setting named "Pad Empty Days"

You will notice the url is ModuleSettings.aspx?mid=x

where mid is module id and the value of x is the module id for the content instance. The module id will not be the same as for your google map module instance as it is for your events module instance.

When viewing the module settings for the Event Calandar the left most tab will say "Event Calendar Settings" whereas if you were in the module settings for a google map instance it will say "Google Map Settings", other than that they look almost the same.

Clicking the "Add Event" link near the title of your Event Calendar is where you will see event specific things.

Hope it helps,

Joe

Re: Event Calendar Configuration

Hi Joe,

You may very well be correct and I might have just missed something, having been expecting something different.  I'll check again later, following your advice more closely.  Thanks for following up.

Re: Event Calendar Configuration

I have the same problem

when i pull up my setting for an event calendar it shows me the wrong set of settings. I should display the setting for the event calendar but what i get it the setting for the map module

I looked in the Database, if you look at the moduledefinitionsettings table you will see that all the settings records for the even are missmatched, in fact the event calendar setting are no anywhere in the table.

How do i fix this

Re: Event Calendar Configuration

Hi,

This is highly unlikely unless someone has manually modified the database and even then, unless they were really lucky it wouldn't work at all. Are you sure you're not confusing the map settings available on the calendar with the map module?

Thanks,
Joe D.
