Private website for subscribers

I am a Business user of mojo portal for many years and have publish public websites so I am familiar with many of the features

We are looking to determine a way to provide "Subscribers/Members" with private page(s). I am hoping you can help determine if what we want is possible with the "out of the box" mojo portal, if not are the customization possible. I am hoping we don't need a different CMS since we think mojoportal is the best available for our needs so far.

The webpages would be password protected and only available to Subscriber/Member.

Once logged in we want subscriber/member to do the following from their private webpage(s):

1. Access webpage content related to a purchased seminar or webninar. This content is not available on the public website but available to user groups. The idea is once the "Subscribers/Members" logs in they are directed to their personal webpage(s). Their website would have links to content : HTML Content  and Image Gallery that we mark as available to the "Subscribers/Members".

2. They would also have access to a personal instances of a Blog that they can use as a personal journal. This instance of the Blog would be marked via "User that can edit content"  for the "Subscriber/Member". We would like to offer the "Subscriber/Member" the ability to share blog entries of their choice to the Member Community section of the website by selecting the "Include In Feed?". We were thinking of using the "Work flow" option to approve the entries before they are available in the community blog via RSS Feed manager.

3. access to their personal Image Gallery where they can upload personal images. Here again giving them the option to choose images they would like to share with the member community. The selected images would be workflowed so management could approve them before they are available to the community. We were thinking of using the Content Management Share content

Sorry for the long question and I appreciate any help

David

Re: Private website for subscribers

Hi David,

In terms of membership subscriptions and access to premium content, content can be protected by roles and we have an add on product Site Membership Pro which handles the ecommerce for membership subscriptions and automation of granting or revoking the allowed roles to a user account.

However in terms of granting users their own blog or image gallery, please see the section "What mojoPortal is NOT Designed For" on our about page.

In addition to the security concerns that make it not recommended to give strangers edit access there is nothing built in to automatically provision a blog page or gallery page for a new user.

So this is not really a scenario that currently would be recommended for using mojoPortal.

Hope that helps,

Joe
