Selective Publishing of Blog in Feedmanager not sticky

Hi guys

Mojo 2.3.9.0 MSSQL IIS6

I have a new site that is using a feedmanager instance to pull latest blog items onto the home page. It is set for selective publishing in place but when I unpublish a particular article from the feed it does not stick for long - it seems to revert to publish every time the feed cache expires. I have the same setup on another site using 2.3.7.6 that works fine. Is there a setting I have forgotten?

Hi John,

The feed manager cache doesn't keep anything permanently so if it expires or is cleared it will be as if its all new again.

The easiest solution since you are talking about an internal feed from the blog is to edit the blog post and uncheck the box for "Include In Feed" if you don't want that post included. Or if it sjust older items you don't want in feed manager put a lower number in the Feed Manager setting for "Show posts for up to this many days old".

Also you can set a longer time for the feed manager cache to last.

Actually having compared the one that works as expected and the new one where selective publishing does not stick I think the problem was being caused by having 'Publish by Default' turned on for that feed. So I guess that overrides the selective publishing.
