Using same email for multiple users

Hi at all,

I need to create new user in mojoPortal, but this user must have same email as another user already registered.

For example:

UserId: 00001 - email: simone@00001.com

UserId: 00002 - email: simone@00001.com

In normal installation is impossible, there is a setting for disable this check?

Thanks,

Simone

Re: Using same email for multiple users

Hi Simone,

In my opinion it isn't a nice feature to have. Accessing two person to one email address means it is a general email (like info@somecompanydomain). In this case there isn't need to register any user that access this email in site, but register by the email as an organization/company/group and give the password of it to any person that needs access to site.

Hope Helps,

Asad

Re: Using same email for multiple users

Hi Asad,

thanks for reply, the problem is that isn't a single company, but is structured as customer under agency, and in my case the agency must registered for each customer, but same email is needed.

Re: Using same email for multiple users

Hi,

If their mail server handles plus addressing (most do), have them use plus addressing or address tagging. So, they could have agency+Customer@domain.com as their registered address when their real email address is agency@domain.com. More info on address tagging.

If their mail server doesn't handle plus addressing, there is no way around the email address check in mojoPortal.

Joe D.
