If you have questions about using mojoPortal, you can post them here.
You may want to first review our site administration documentation to see if your question is answered there.
When I change the "Registration Agreement", I am left with a lot of users who signed up to something different. I'd like a way of alerting them to the change when they next login, and (optionally) asking them to "Agree" again.
Is there a way of doing this already? If not I'm thinking a couple of check boxes on the Admin > Registration Agreement page:
"Alert users to the changed registration agreement" (which shows users a popup msg on login, configured using a template)
and
"Force registered users to agree to the changed registration agreement", (which shows users a popup and only logs them in if they click an I Agree check box).
I will log this request in our project tracker but it is not a trivial request and I'm not sure when we will get to it. There are a lot of things with much higher priorities so it probably will not be soon.
Best,
Joe
Thanks Joe. While it may not be trivial, I think the heightened publicity and concern around this area recently (with high profile organisations making changes to T&Cs without adequately informing users) means that a good CMS needs to have a mechanism for managing this.
Hi Crispin,
You can already do the notification piece manually using the Newsletter system in the mojoPortal core. Just create a new newsletter with the a notice about the change in terms, sign-up all of your current users, and send it.

Hi Joe
I'd considered that, but when you say "sign up all your users", is there a way of doing that apart from going into the database? (I have a ton of users so cannot do this manually). If not perhaps there could be an option when managing a newsletter to do this?
And on a related issue, will there be the ability to email all registered users in mojo soon? That would also partially meet requirements and be useful for all kinds of things.
In the latest release it is now possible to opt in all existing site members to a newsletter provided that they have not previously opted out of any newsletters.
Thanks Joe good solution.
