Sign In Page Directions

Please forgive me if this topic has been talked about before.  I was not able to find it in searching.  On the Secure/Login.aspx page there is only user id/password and the optional login with other credentials box.  Is it possible to add a simple text html box before the user id that would give directions and or a disclaimer about login into the web site?

Thanks!

Re: Sign In Page Directions

There is not currently a way to inject instructions on the login page. There is a place to create a registration agreement in the Administration menu and this is where you would typically put terms of use or disclaimers that woiuld show up on the registration page. Signing in is supposed to be obvious how to do it and should not really need instructions.

Hope that helps,

Joe

Re: Sign In Page Directions

Hey Joe.  That helps.  Your web portal has helped me recreate my internal company web site.  With the use of LDAP, there is no registration.   You said signing in is suppose to be obvious, you have not met some of my co-workers.

Thanks for your time and effort.

Re: Sign In Page Directions

For what it's worth, I would probably use such an instruction block if we opened up external registration. The reason is that internal users must use the Windows user ID for LDAP, and external users can now use either their user ID or email address for the database authentication. An instruction block might be useful for conveying that distinction to people logging in, but I'll leave it up to Joe to decide if that rises to the level of a worthy feature request.

I will add support for that.
