  • What operating system were you running when the bug appeared?
  • What database platform is your site using?
  • What version of mojoPortal are you running?
  • What version of .NET do you use?
  • What steps are necessary to reproduce the issue? Compare expected results vs actual results.

Hi Joe!

Didn't know where to post this, but this is probably the best place.

There are some things that really does not look good. For example this page:

I think you are taking a risk with mojoPortal by publishing a skin that is not perfect. This is the front window from where the product is judged and the look and feel is the most important aspect, even if it is misleading. Posted a silmilar text as a comment on the blog, but think it is very important and my advice is that you reconsider this.

I appreciate your feedback and think it is well intentioned good feedback. You may think I did not think of such things but in fact I did and decided to try this new design anyway. Really the logo of the word mojoPortal in the header is the main branding (in terms of what is seen in other places like Codeplex and the Web App Gallery and other important sites that link back to us, and I kept that part of the design the same because I did not want to completely rebrand mojoPortal.  Really there have been 3 previous mojoPortal designs used on this site but the previous one has been used for quite a few years now.

I've fixed the page you mentioned, thanks also for that and please let me know if you see any other issues.

Hi,

I think the new design is definitely an improvement, very clean, one usability issue I would mention is use of the light blue on a white background, i. e. on the documentation page, personally I think the contrast should be increased.

A couple of things I noticed in IE8 on Windows Vista;

Forum

1. On hover the "You must sign in to post in the forums" text disappears.
2. The New Topic image is not displayed.

We've fixed the IE problem in the forums and we've made the link font a little darker to help the contrast.
